JOB DESCRIPTION
We are seeking an experienced attorney to join the Litigation practice group in our Pittsburgh office. Our attorneys work on a full spectrum of general litigation cases for their clients in a wide range of industries. Our Litigation Practice Group serves clients in commercial litigation matters, employment litigation, municipal litigation, toxic tort defense, and personal injury defense. We are seeking an attorney to provide expertise in all areas from general business law to complex insurance coverage litigation. You will have the opportunity to join a dynamic team of litigation counsel and benefit from the support and collaboration of all attorneys in the firm. Some of the key anticipated responsibilities are listed below:
Provide analysis and counsel to clients on legal policy.
Lead the client through the litigation process including depositions and courtroom strategies.
Provide legal counsel on issues arising from actual or anticipated lawsuits.
Anticipate and guard against legal risks facing the client.
Develop and recommend client policy and position on legal issues.
Conduct and coordinate research, interview clients and witnesses, and handle all other details related to the preparation of trial or depositions.
Represent the client or its officials in various legal proceedings.
Prepare for trial including taking and defending depositions, written discovery, and other case preparation.
Draft briefs, pleadings, position statements, stipulations, and dispositive motions.
Write and administer complex legal arguments and defend such in court.
Counsel clients on creation of sound operating policies, procedural improvements, and related agreements to avoid future litigation.
Participate in practice group meetings to review current objectives, cases, and network with other attorneys and stakeholders in the group.
Participate in professional development initiatives for Continuing Legal Education and firm sponsored seminars. Attends social functions and speaking engagements that support the development of the attorney’s practice. Author publications for internal or external use.

Requirements
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
License to practice law in Pennsylvania with bar admission in good standing
Degree from an accredited law school
3-6 years general litigation with trial experience
Knowledge of federal, state, and local laws
Excellent communication skills
Ability to work in and adapt to a fast-paced work environment
Strong organizational, time management, and project management mindset
Commitment to professionalism, cooperation, and teamwork
A strong drive to provide proactive, client-focused legal services
WORK ENVIRONMENT | PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee must be able to:
Travel to places of business including, the office, courthouses, client locations, and other offices to conduct business. Will perform sedentary work exerting up to fifty (50) pounds of force occasionally to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects including files. Must see, hear, talk, and perform tasks requiring manual dexterity, kneeling, standing, walking, stooping, reaching, and other similar tasks requiring physical activity. Will operate a computer, fax, copier, telephone, and other general office equipment. Work is generally performed in a temperature-controlled office environment.
